CELEBRATING THE RETURN!
Movie & Long Life Empowerment
Brilliant Moon chronicles the life of one of Tibet's most revered 20th-century teachers, Dilgo Khyentse. A writer, poet and meditation master, Khyentse Rinpoche was an inspiration to all who encountered him. His many students throughout the world included the Dalai Lama and the King of Bhutan.

Using animation, rare still and archival footage and filmed throughout Tibet, India, the USA, Bhutan, and Nepal, the film tells his story from birth to death to rebirth—his childhood, his escape from Tibet during China's invasion, his determination to rebuild and reestablish the tradition far and wide, and the discovery of his incarnation. This moving biography is told in part through interviews with the Dalai Lama, Matthieu Ricard, Rabjam Rinpoche, and others, and is narrated by Richard Gere and Lou Reed.

The film is by Neten Chokling, director of Milarepa and a close student of Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche. It was made in honor of the 2010 centennial celebrations for Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche.

Dilgo Khyentse Yangsi Rinpoche - Long Life Empowerment

Of the many different ways that students may make a connection with a teacher, the Long Life Empowerment provides a wonderful opportunity to receive the teacher’s blessing while making aspirations for one’s own longevity and ability to practice the teachings. Short yet deeply meaningful, the Pema Tse Nyingtik or Pema’s Heart Essence of Longevity empowerment with Dilgo Khyentse Yangsi Rinpoche provides just such an opportunity. Dilgo Khyentse Yangsi Rinpoche is the reincarnation of the widely revered and deeply loved Tibetan master, Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche (1910 – 1991). Khyentse Rinpoche’s immense contribution to the preservation of Buddhist learning and his dedication to a non-sectarian embrace of all Buddhist traditions are universally recognized and admired. His incarnation, while young, is recognized for his compassion, diligence and strong interest in Western culture and spiritual practitioners.

For students old and new, if you are not able to attend the empowerment and practice of the Rangjung Peme Nyingthik sadhana with Khyentse Yangsi Rinpoche in Colorado or simply wish to have multiple chances to be in his presence, the Long Life Empowerment at Boulder Theater can re-ignite your connection – or establish it freshly.
